Our May Excursions

Time seems to fly by so quickly; next month will mark one year old for my baby boy and I can hardly believe how quickly time has flown by! May has been somewhat of an up and down month for me. While we haven’t gone many places as a family, but have still done quite a few activities together. Weather was amazing until recently – with temperatures hitting near 30 degrees on one occasion which was both too warm for comfort but lovely change nonetheless.

We went for a 10-minute drive from where we live to a beach nearby and took a stroll there, enjoying some chippy chips and an ice cream after. The girls enjoyed playing in the park and running around. Freddie especially had fun riding his smarTrike which he thoroughly enjoyed! Wind was strong so we didn’t stay too long as it got chilly towards the end. Still, enough time had passed that was enjoyable for both children. My attempt at taking a family photo proved futile due to Elliw whining she didn’t want to come in it! Elliw pushed Mia back out and wanted Elliw in the photo but Mia refused, so we will see. Freddie has become increasingly fond of taking swing rides at parks since getting pushed a little higher each time we visit and loves going fast on it; our pushes don’t go too high or fast but he seems delighted by it all.

My girls have also been frequenting their school park after school most days this month, where I stay by one of the benches to watch while they play with their friends. It has been so great seeing both girls playing so freely alongside one another; knowing both are quite similar makes me so proud that they both have friends that allow them to be themselves.
