Our July Journey

It’s hard to believe that July is already over. We had some wonderful memories, even though it went by too quickly. It’s hard to believe that Freddie is already a year old. We took a short break in Haven to commemorate his first birthday. It feels like was just yesterday when I gave him birth. We had been planning to take Freddie away on his birthday for a long time. It was fortunate that the date we chose was available because it coincided with the summer holidays. It’s going be an annual thing for us to go to Haven.

At the beginning of this month, we visited a’Choose Your Own Strawberries’Farm.
We didn’t plan to go. We had no idea what we were going to do that day. We got in the car, and we were off. I was unaware of the farm until we drove around Anglesey. I was so excited that I couldn’t wait. Since a few years, I’ve wanted to go. Mia missed it because she was at her Dad’s. We have promised to take her back in August, which is what she’s most excited about. Elliw was thrilled and I was amazed that she didn’t seem to be afraid of picking strawberries. She even ate some.

The girls are also on summer break. I am a little nervous at the idea of having three children home every day. I’m even more anxious about trying to come up with ways to keep them entertained for the next six week. I’ve made a bucket list of summer activities that I want to complete by the end August. Going out of the home reduces the number of arguments within the family. Since the holidays began, I have been going out every morning. It really improves my mood throughout the day. After breakfast, the morning can be stressful because Freddie gets tired and the girls start arguing.

One of our first adventures was taking the train from Porthmadog up to Pwllheli.
Mam, one of my partners, invited us along for the day. We ate in Pwllheli, did some shopping and then got back on the train for an ice-cream in Porthmadog. Freddie fell asleep on the way to Pwllheli, but woke up on our return. The girls and he both loved it. I took a few pictures, but not nearly as many as I would have liked. My camera wasn’t fully charged before I left, so I took them with my phone.
