Family Adventure at Gypsy Wood in Bontnewydd

We don’t go on family days out very often because Mia is always at her Dad’s house. Every other Sunday, she’ll be here with us and I plan family outings then. She has spent some Sundays at her Dad’s house, as she has been there for the weekend. I was thrilled to see her on Sunday, the 17th, back at home. We could go out with all of us. The weather was perfect and it was surprisingly warm. We went to Gypsy Wood, which is located in Bontnewydd. It’s about 10-15 minutes by car from our house and I haven’t visited in about two years, which is a shame. It was great to see how much the place had changed since my last visit. There were so many new things and
Freddie is not a confident walker yet, so we bought a family ticket for around PS25.
As soon as we entered the park, there were things to do. Everywhere you looked there was always something that the children could do. There are so many things to do, whether it is playing on the trampoline or trains, searching for fairies, driving cars, go-karting, etc. We arrived at 1pm, and left by 4pm. The kids had a great time.

Freddie was asleep when we arrived, which was a bummer. After about 45 minutes, I decided to gently wake him up. He did. He walked everywhere from then on. He did not want to be carried and wanted to walk. Even now, I’m still amazed at how well-behaved he was. I think he will be very laid-back when he gets older. He had a few tantrums after we left the go kart area because he loved it. We would have stayed a lot longer if my partner didn’t have to push and hold him. We went to another part of the park, where he found little cars and tractors that were more appropriate for his age. He loved them. It was a great place to visit. There’s plenty to do and it is suitable for all ages. It was a real treat to be able to visit this weekend, as the park will only be open until next weekend before it closes for the season. The park will reopen next year. You should definitely visit if you have never been before. It’s a great place to spend the day, with so many things for kids and adults alike.
