family outings on weekends is one of my favorite activities, as my partner works full time. Every time Mia goes home with her dad on Saturday or Sunday it can be challenging but every other week Mia joins us. Bodnant Gardens was on my bucket list so when asked by National Trust Parks whether I would like to visit one during school half term holidays I enthusiastically chose Bodnant Gardens as my destination.
We went with friends and their kids. It was such a lovely day; it rained briefly but then the sun shone through! When we arrived, it was quite busy in the car park so we had to park right up at the top; after walking downhill for five or 10 minutes depending on your speed of walking uphill or vice versa there is an adorable wooden playground with swings for children half way. On the return home they were excited to experience that playground again!
At the entrance, there was a charming cafe which looked inviting. But we decided not to visit as we all brought along packed lunches for ourselves and it was too early. Instead, we continued down the path towards the main entrance of the garden where you pay. As it was half term, they provided activities for kids in a colorful tent at the entrance. We started our walk into the garden. First stop: Laburnum Arch – so many people around that it made taking photos difficult but I managed to capture some good ones of its beauty; it wowed both myself and our three year-old visitors alike! They were truly amazed!
