Recent Events in My Life – Motherhood Can Be Challenging Sometimes

Life has been very busy in recent weeks for me; between working a lot and trying to organize everything for Christmas, as well as trying to enjoy every minute of a much-deserved break with my partner and I last weekend, which was amazing and something we have done every year since for at least four years or more prior. Last weekend we spent both a day and night at Liverpool Albert Dock which I visit annually (sometimes alone and other times with a group). Liverpool is my absolute favourite place and this Christmas was the first year we visited there during Christmas time – I wish we could go back!

I was disappointed we weren’t able to visit on the following weekend when the Christmas Market first started, a week early. Unfortunately we would have had no babysitter available, so we decided on our original dates instead and spent one full day shopping in Liverpool’s center; while I indulged myself by visiting Primark (in which I indulged myself quite heavily!). While Primark in Liverpool is my go-to store – no surprise here!) but after spending many hours wandering its aisles (especially wearing a big baggy jumper under coat), I got quite tired towards its end despite finding quite a few bargains (thanks again, Primark!). I really loved spending that first full day shopping the centre had to offer and managed quite some fantastic bargains which really pleased me as it meant no babysitting availability made for a successful visit :D).

That evening we went to the Cinema and out for dinner – it was lovely spending quality time together without interruption or rush back home in time for bedtime or early morning wakeups – bliss! However, I did miss my children greatly: It had been over three years since Freddie had been away, and nearly two since Elliw had not been at my side either.

On our way home we stopped off briefly at The Croft Shopping Retail Park before leaving early again to go home. Although it was wonderful seeing all three kids again upon returning, reality set in quickly as arguments ensued between my partner and I due to tension between Freddie (tiredness) and Mia (bad attitude and rudeness) while Elliw just being Elliw.
